Superintendent/Principal

Welcome to Johnstonville School. It is my honor and privilege to work with the students, parents, and staff in our exceptional school. As a staff, we are truly focused on the success of each child. I want to commend the Board of Trustees for its commitment to this mission, as it is through their leadership that this priority flows throughout the entire organization.

As I interact with Johnstonville School staff, it is obvious they have a passion for education and have a deep pride in Johnstonville Elementary School. It is easy to see how proud they are of their students, classes, and collective efforts, which are deliberately focused on supporting every child’s success.

We are one of the oldest schools in Lassen County, having formed in 1864. With over 160 years of experience, we have a tradition of performance and a future of opportunities. From our school’s organic garden to our high-tech Innovation Lab and our low student-to-teacher ratio, we are dedicated to helping our students meet their individual and collective goals.

I have been in education for almost 24 years. I have always wanted to make a difference in my student's lives. One of the wonderful things about Johnstonville School is that we are all committed to this belief. We have an opportunity to help students realize their potential. Together, teachers, staff, parents, leaders, and the community, we produce better outcomes for our students.

On a personal note, I have been married for 25 years and have five children. Two of my children attend Johnstonville Elementary School. I am a big believer in being active in the community I work and live in. It is this core belief that has driven me to become involved with the Susan River Fire Department and the Susanville Elks Lodge.
